My sister Olivia gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Matthew Brooks. He is already growing fast and the doctors are very happy with his progress.

We decided to have our Christmas lunch at the new Moyo restaurant in Pretoria, Fountains Valley in the Groenkloof Nature Reserve. Upon arrival we were escorted with umbrella’s to the restaurant to guard us from the hot Pretoria sun. We were then handed father Christmas hats, and a lovely fruity cocktail…

There were a lovely atmosphere, a stunning African live band and a male singing choir… They entertained us with some Christmas carols and a few love songs. The food was just amazing, perfectly prepared and boy did we enjoy it. In addition, there was the traditional, hand wash, face painting, drummer boys and story teller adding to the excitement of the day.

Before we knew, 4hours has passed and we still weren’t ready to leave…

This was truly an unforgettable Christmas, hope you enjoy the photo’s… Carmen is becoming quite a photographer these days.

About 45min after the rain, I noticed a sudden change in the light from my balcony’s window… the Moon was so bright and the clouds so beautiful. I just had to take out my camera and take a few images… The Moon moved very quickly and seeing that I was shooting at between 2-3sec exposure, I had little time to get the perfect shot….

This is 6 images taken in formation after each other… you can see how quickly the moon moves up in behind the clouds, nature is truly phenomenal… at one point it can be so scary with lighting strikes, tornado’s etc. and on the other hand it can paint a beautiful picture so peaceful…

Had the privilege to photograph a luxury Falcon 600 Aircraft recently… what an awesome experience. The world of the Rich and famous…

This Aircraft is equipped with just about all the luxury you can think of, and to top it all off… these guys drink Louis XIII, Renny Martin, A 750ml bottle of Louis XIII may be priced as high as $2000(US)

I just got home from the Canon Wild Roadshow for Professionals that was held in Kyalami. What an interesting and captivating experience. Not only did I hand held the new 1D MkIV which was released less than 24hours ago, I also have the privilege to meet some of  SA’s best photographers, see their work and listen to their life stories. This can only encourage and inspire me and many others.

After parking the car in garage the rain started, I was all wet after just a few seconds running to my apartment. Another Thunderstorm was upon us, it was like the earth was angry… load and bold strikes of lighting. I decided to setup my gear to see if I could capture a few.

After 30min on the balcony I caught this spectacular moment, and boy was it worth it…

What a perfect wedding day in Gauteng, Romantic venue Oak Fields just outside Pretoria… It was not only a pleasure capturing those special memories, but it was fun working with the couple… Their great personalities really made my work much easier…  May God spare them many many wonderful years.

On 28 November 2008 I did a maternity shoot with Chantal and Francois and like all maternity shoots this was an amazing privilege. The shoot was done on beautiful Camps Bay beach in Cape Town and even as the sun was beginning to set, the weather could not be more perfect.

Chantal and Francois’ enthusiasm during the shoot did not only make apparent their love for each other and their unborn baby, but it also showed how excited they were becoming parents.

Baby Daniel made his unexpected appearance into the world on 06 February 2009, a good couple of weeks before he was actually due, and although doctors and especially his parents might have been understandably concerned at first, Daniel proved to be quite a determined little fella. He’s now a healthy little boy, and most certainly the apple of his parents’ eye. As close friends of both Daniel’s parents it sure has been a great experience for me and my fiancé to share in the beautiful lives of the Willenburgs.
